Okay.. I was trying to stall uploading this one because I was just never in the mood to re-write this long description.... but, I think it's about time.
Okay, since I'm lazy, I'm going to make this as short as possible...
Xilon is the giant dragon, first of all. A boy named Jason found Xilon, also commonly refered to as Xi or just Z, on his way home from school. Z was still very young, and had gotten himself caught in a trap meant for large wild animals. Though he was young, he was about the same size (a little bigger maybe) as Jason, and could speak his language quite fluently. Jason frees him from the trap, and quickly runs home, not wanting to really get involved with a dragon.
What Jason didn't know though, was that Xilon had followed him home. Z stayed hidden in front of Jason's home (where he lived with his parents of course) and greeted him happily the next time he came out. Weeeell, really long story short, the two became fast friends. And, since Jason happened to belong to a very rich family, they could afford to keep and care for Xilon.
As the years went by, Z grew quite rapidly. Jason had to keep moving him, until finally, when he got his own house, he actually had to build Z a special place under ground, so that people wouldn't be suspicious of a large building jutting out in the middle of nowhere. Not to mention, it was just easier and somewhat safer this way. Jason later married a woman named Mara. Right from the start, Mara just flat out didn't trust the giant dragon that lived with her husband. She actually tried multiple times to convince Jason to get rid of Z... needless to say, the relationship between Mara and Z is rocky to say the least, though Xilon would never REALLY hurt her... much...
Jason and Mara later had a child named Anna, and right from the start Jason wanted Anna and Z to be friends... but right from the start, Mara just wouldn't allow the dragon near her baby. They later reached a compromise, which involved forcing Z to wear a very heavy brace around his neck that kept him from flying, and would shock him if he tried to leave his little "area". This is what made Z seem more like a servant or a pet than a friend, though he didn't argue with it. As Anna grew, she became quite fond of her dragon friend, and he of her. He felt obligated to protect her, and even promised her father that he wouldn't let any harm come to her.
One sad day though, mysterious people broke in to their home. Jason seemed to know it was coming, and had just before this told Xilon to take Anna and run. Z asked no questions... though it was difficult for him to leave the area with the collar. Anna never found out what happened to her father, but Xilon did and never allowed her to return to their old home, for fear of her finding out that her father was truly gone.
*faint* that took too long.
